Presented by Theze Dealz & Thrifty Boutique
August is National Black Business Month and although Black businesses should be supported year-round, all month long people across the country are encouraged to recognize and support Black-owned businesses. Historian John William Templeton and engineer Frederick E. Jordan Sr. founded National Black Business Month in Au-gust 2004. The purpose was to “drive the policy agenda affecting the 2.6 million African-American businesses.” Black business owners account for about 10% of U.S. businesses and about 30% of all minority-owned businesses.
Zontaye Richardson, owner of Theze Dealz, has been an owner of a retail space for 5 years and knows the importance of supporting Black businesses in the Gem City, which is why “ The Gem City Black Business Tour '' was created. The tour is de-signed to highlight over 20 businesses through-out Dayton.
This tour, led by owner and Entrepreneur Zontaye Richardson of Theze Dealz Thrift Store, features shopping, eating, and bringing awareness to black-owned businesses and spending $$.
